Self-ish selfies

Hello, So how many of you are obsessed with taking selfies? Don’t worry. Include me too. But the problem is, what is selfie? What is meaning of front cam?
Keeping that aside, how our eyes function as? Rear cam or front cam? Obviously rear cam. We see the whole world with our eyes, which is infront of us. So rear cam scenario is justified. Ok. What is for front cam with respect to eyes! Seeing what is present on the backside of our eyes! So how can we see? Though we close our eyes, we see complete darkness.
So our eyes are like old generation cameras, which only have ability to take view of things only infront of us.

Let us think it in other way. May be our eyes are also working as front cam. But what we find with our closed eyes is only darkness. May be that’s what we are from inside. Completely filled with darkness, searching for light. We should find that light. Hidden somewhere within us. So what is purpose of selfies if we can take the selfies of only our outside. They are self-ish selfies. Let’s take pictures of our our inside. Our soul. Capture the selfie of them. They will be known as self-less selfies or even better  Soulfies.

Note: I know our eyes can’t take pictures. But still I have compared them with cameras is just because, our memories are stored in form of pictures in our brain.

    Dear Jackie Jain,
I Like the above post. Thank you for visiting my blog.

I believe that we can see our Soulfies in real life by seeing past our superficial lives and lifestyles. We our often caught up in our routines, jobs/careers, and habits. If we can get to a point where we are seeing the moments within our lifestyle and routines I believe we will be able to see our Souls or Soulfies as you have coined them. When we get to be able to see our moments within our lives we will see some great things about our Souls and some things that are not as positive about our Souls.

A couple of years ago I had an experience while I was waiting for a bus. I was listening to Beethoven and a Chinese woman came near me to also wait for a bus. I asked her if the music was going to bother her and said that I would turn it down or turn it off if she could hear it or if it was going to bother her. she said that it was not bothering her and that I was an old soul. At the time I was between 24 and 26 years old. I liked what she said and believe I am an old soul but in a lot of ways I am still growing and trying to present myself as someone that is more mature and thinks before they speak. I said I think I am an old soul because I like doing a lot of things that our parents like doing and am not a partier/video gamer/drinker even though I am 27 years old now. If I really look at my soul and see it I would say I like childish actions like messing with coworkers stuff by moving their objects into a different locker and such. Even though I know this is not the responsible or right thing to do I still get a smirk out of it sometimes. On one side of my soul I care about other people and am often kind, however on the other end of my soul I can easily fake concern and not really care about a coworkers situation that they are discussing and or going through.

    Sincerely,
    Sam Sutlive.

P.S. Jackie Jain I am going to tell you now that I am from another country. I hope you do not dislike my opinions, poems, and photographs because they are from a different point of view. I know we grew up in different places but I believe that Blogs can be a place where we meet in the middle and say I may be Xenophobic or dislike where you are from but I will try or can meet you- the other blogger, in the middle. I will never judge you or anything you post based on what country, point of view, political affiliation, or ideology you come or came from.
    Sincerely,
    Samuel Sutlive.

Thank you so much Samuel. What you have said is absolutely true. We are often busy with our routine works, and don’t get time to spend with our soul. Our body don’t carry soul. Soul carries our body. Old soul concept is that we tend to do things which were practised in olden days. And how lucky the olden souls are. It is good to know about you.

And I think you got me wrong when it comes to the term xenophobia. In my view, it is fear of strangers. It doesn’t depend on the places where they are from. Actually I feel like I am being judged by these people, when I am in crowd. I feel like everyone’s eyes are on me, And I hesitate to do things my way. I tend to things which are generally accepted. I am trying to work on it. It’s not that I hate, it’s just that sometimes I fear crowd. Thanks.. Have a good day Samuel.. 🙂

In yoga, I close my eyes for hours, to see inside myself; the darkness reveals all the colors and stories and memories that I have stored and want to share with–my self! Then I can write about them, bring them outside into the light of the day. So yes, soul-fie. I like it! (and thanks for liking my blog post about the Poet in the Woods.)

Yes. Yoga and meditation constitutes the ways to seek inside the eyes. They are the only medium through which we can see the beautiful colors hidden behind these black and white eyes. Thank you.. And it was my pleasure reading your post.
