To do or not to do? What’s the motive?

We often face a situation in which we get into a dilemma of whether doing a particular action is useful or whether not doing it is useful.

There are many ideologies in the world which makes each person unique and one’s perspective is different from one another. If one says that our Earth revolves around the Sun while another says that only such thoughts revolve around our mind but not in reality, latter sounds more logical though. Opinions may vary and even proof may be also one of the many possible solutions of a single problem. So it is difficult to believe what is true or what is not and what is real or what is not. But now we live in a world where we think it is difficult to distinguish even between what is right and what is wrong! This tells how far we have come and how far we have stepped away from humanity. Law and order have completely failed in guiding the humanity in a particular direction and thus it has failed in taking the world on a good and moral path. Is there a way by following which we can all feel satisfied with our actions and bring back goodness and morality in people?

The major failure of humanity is that we perform actions for the sake of results. If we predict that the result will be good, then we perform that action, if we predict that the result will be bad then we don’t perform that action. It may seem right for a moment, but just imagine who knows what our future holds and whatever we assume our results are just mere predictions not the real ones. Motive of an action is more important than the ultimate result. First thing that should be kept in our mind while performing an action is the motive of the action, not the result of the action as result is just our aim not the vision itself. Let’s take a recent example, in our India, Olympic medal winners have been gifted BMW by Sachin Tendulkar for their extraordinary performances. But if they had performed just for sake of that, then their performance would have been affected as their actions may have been distracted from the motive to perform well towards results to win at any cost. As I have said, opinions may vary.

So when you fix motive in your mind, you get there and when you fix result in your mind, you reach no where. Money is not the motive, it is just the fruit of the result. * For example when we get a job, what do most people ask! Is it What is your job about? or is it How much is your salary? * Haven’t you experienced this? Think upon it, how backwards we are travelling nowadays as humanity. People don’t care about what you do, they care about what you get for doing that. This was just one of many examples. We need to set out our motive to do good for others in a good way and improving humanity in us. Motive should be decided on whether doing an action will improve one’s capabilities without hurting others or not and whether it will benefit others or not. Because there is a special feeling of self-satisfaction when we do good to others.

We live in a world where unless we show the fruits of the result, we don’t perform a particular action. Will you work for the cause of humanity if the result is nothing but just self-satisfaction? I know most of us won’t. Because we are not brought up that way. We work for results but not motive. When the reason of doing an action is good, then the result will turn out to be good. But when your reason for doing an action is wrong at the first place, do you think even the good result will do good to you? No way. From the day when the people in the world will learn to perform an action with a good motive rather than for a unknown good result, then we will be back on the track on the humanity. For example don’t aim to be a successful or a failure, because when you aim for success automatically failure becomes negative to you. But when your motive is improvement rather than success or failure, then you will never fail. And isn’t improvement better than success?

Sometimes ‘good’ motive may also lead to bad results. So what is the problem here? What is ‘good’ here? Is good a good thing only when it does good to the person doing it? No. It’s not. A good thing for one person may not be good to others. This is a very complex issue and should be taken on a global level. For that ‘good’ should be considered as good only when it helps others to become better as a person and makes them feel satisfied too with the motive. So motive should be good so that it brings goodness for everyone on a large scale and concentration should be on motive rather than the result. If we give up our desires and work towards upbringing the social, moral, religious and human values, then we may know the importance of good motive. We are in a situation where all these values are at record low. Isn’t it more important to work for improvement (better say re-birth) of humanity (motive) rather than thinking that it is impossible to change our entire world with such actions (assumed result)!!

If everyone thinks oneself as the center of the universe and make his motive of his actions as upbringing of the whole society for a good cause rather than worrying about the result, then we may see the world which we all want to be in. The insecurity of future makes us work for result rather than motive. But our confidence in present makes us work for motive rather than the result. Think about good things and make them as the motive to bring good in the world, don’t think about good things which you need personally as it will become a problem for others on a global scale. Because if the intention is good, nature tries to bring it in reality and if intention of an action is not good, even then nature being helpless brings that into reality. So be careful while doing an action. If doing good to others is everyone’s motive, then the purpose of humanity will be served. Life is simple but complexities begin when the motive to live life becomes wrong.

Thanks for reading. I know it was a long read, but while writing this, my reason for writing this was more important than the word count it may end up with. Think about your motive rather than the result while performing an action. Have a great week ahead. 🙂

A ship that never sinks

Our faith is a ship that never sinks, still sometimes we lose our faith because there is not enough water beneath this ship to move forward.

It comes a time in every one’s life where we all face a situation in which we tend to lose faith because of our conditions. Does it mean that the ship of our faith is sinking! I think no. Because the ship of faith never sinks, it always knows how to swim in the times of good and float in the times of bad. The reason we tend to lose faith is because we don’t keep enough water in our rivers to move forward. Having said that, I mean, water is to ‘Inspiration’ and rivers is to ‘life’. It means that we don’t have enough inspiration in our life for our ship of faith to travel to our destiny. Inspiration is the medium of transport for the ship of faith to travel forward. So we lose faith because it is still, it is not moving. In such situations we need to get inspiration and put back ship of faith back on track.

We all need something to move forward. Moving forward not in the sense of distance, it is in the sense of life. Our life keeps us testing by giving difficult situations to keep that inspiration flowing. What is a difficult situation? What is a good situation for you and what is bad? If it does good to you then only the situation is good for you? Then you are wrong. Bad situations brings out the best in us. Bad situation is not bad for you at all, it just says that situation is in trouble and you have to solve the issue. It is an opportunity in disguise to bring out the hidden talent out of you, which could have never come out otherwise.

We should not get attached to the situations because of their conditions. We have get over the situation with our confidence and be happy for what we have learnt from the situation. We should not feel happy when someone is in a difficult situation, we should try to help them out. I don’t know from what humans have come from, but I know, humanity is definitely about helping fellow humans. Even we get more inspiration when we help others out. To bring people out of depression, negativity and difficult situations makes us more strong and happy. That feeling cannot be described in words, anyway.  Difficult situation is temporary but not the lesson learnt from it.

Inspiration comes in many forms. The thing which makes us think about it and give us a good vibe to become something worth living or doing something worth doing, that can come under the category of inspiration. Even though inspiration can make us think of becoming a better person, you have to travel towards that better version of yours with inspiration as fuel. Because ‘we can draw inspiration from others, but still we have to paint it by our own in our life’. Easier said than done. It is not an easy task for sure as it takes our faith, courage, time and determination. Because inspiration is just the water that creates a medium for the flow, it is we who have to keep flowing with faith to reach our goal.

Don’t run for material things which offer you happiness for few moments. Life is a simple hide and seek game by our creator, even I have written a post on this. We have to reach our creator by seeking for him, by having faith in him. Difficult situation are clues to find his whereabouts and get closer to him. Inspiration keeps us motivated enough to reach there. So fill the sea of your life with inspiration, let your faith flow in inspiration towards your destiny.

Life is a teacher

Each day’s situation is a question asked to you by life and what you do the whole day is its answer. Make sure the answer is relevant and satisfying. Keep learning from these question and answer sessions.

They say our fate is written, but what is written? I’m sure that not everything is written. The things which will happen to us may have been written but how we will react to it or tackle with it is not written. It cannot be written, it has to be created as time passes by. So what we do is, we create our own reality. We have that power to write our life in ourselves. You are writing a new chapter in your life every day, in the form of questions and answers. Life not only asks questions it also teaches us lessons. But remember you get to know the lesson only after you give your answer. If you give right answer, it is a success and if you give a wrong answer, it teaches you a lesson. It’s a win-win situation.

Life even tests your memory power. Life asks the same question in different occasions to test your memory. If you learnt the lesson of that question previously but still you cannot answer the question when asked again, then the question paper gets tougher. So be careful while learning your lessons. You don’t have to be successful to answer your life. You have to courageous enough to face the life. You don’t have to carry your past on your head, but you have to remember what you have learnt in the past.

Life also plays a trick with you. As long as you think you have to answer every question of your life, you never feel happy. Life may play and ask you questions which don’t have answers, they just have sorrow, sadness, emptiness and depression on other end. And when you try to answer these type of tricky questions with ego, hatred and misery, you lose happiness, peace and love. So whenever a question is leading you to sorrowfulness or depression, don’t answer it. At that time try to solve others’ questions. It’s good to help others. Everyone have different question papers so everyone has learnt different lessons. When we share our journey, we learn different lessons without even facing such questions. We learn what life taught to others and we can teach what we learnt from life. This is how we can trick our life and be a successful person in living life. Living for others is always a great feeling. Just believe in time, everything happens for a good cause. Keep learning from life.

We cannot learn everything in a single life. That’s why we keep circling in the birth-death cycle. So make sure you learn whatever is possible so that the consciousness may be helpful at the next stage. We have to experience everything which our soul asks for, which can be done by meditation. Meditation is the connection between the inner world and soul. It’s a journey into the deep of our existence to answer the questions of life in an efficient manner. It is the connection between the question that is asked and the way how to answer it. Because your soul knows more than your mind. Try to answer the questions of life and learn the art of living. Keep meditating, it helps us in knowing our purpose.

Emptiness is not just absence of everything or presence of nothing. Sometimes Emptiness also comes in presence of everything or absence of nothing..

Sometimes the feeling of emptiness is  because we desire for everything and we assume we have them.  And when we don’t get what we desire, we feel empty.

Emptiness is when you think you know everything. And when you realize there is always something which you don’t know, you feel empty.

Emptiness is when you think you own everything you have. And when you can’t buy happiness with that thing, you feel empty.

Emptiness is when you think everyone you know is yours. And when you see their different faces and varying character, you feel empty.

Emptiness is when you believe in fixed way of viewing at things. And when some things don’t match up with your view, you feel empty.

Emptiness is when you think everything around is constant. And when you see yourself in different situations, you feel empty.

Emptiness is when you attach yourself with other things. And when you realize that you have to carry them with you, every moment, you feel empty.

Emptiness is when you dream something without a goal. And when that dream doesn’t come true after a period, you feel empty.

Emptiness is when you don’t adjust your plan according to situation. And when that plan doesn’t work the way you have planned, you feel empty.

Emptiness is when you think you are superior to everyone. And when you realize you are not and there are many great people out there, you feel empty.

Emptiness is when you think time is always in your hands. And when time changes and gets out of your hand, you feel empty.

Emptiness is when you are full busy in daily schedule. And when something important pops out in between that, you feel empty.

Emptiness is when you think materialism is life. And when you feel spiritually low and mentally ill, you feel that you are empty.

Emptiness is when you look only for success. And when you realize being simple is a happier option, you feel that you are empty.

Emptiness is when you want to be famous and a star. And when you come to know being anonymous is more peaceful, you feel empty.

Emptiness is when you want to be rich. And when you realize that richer people have more enemies than friends, you feel empty.

Emptiness is when you don’t believe in God. And when you are in trouble, you don’t know whom to offer a prayer, then you feel empty.

Emptiness is when you don’t take decisions as per the requirement. And when it turns out to be a failure, you feel empty.

Emptiness is when you take a path followed by masses. And when you don’t find your destiny, you feel empty.

Emptiness is when you have a weight in your brain in the form of problems. And when you don’t write down how you feel, you feel more heavy. You feel empty.

Emptiness is when you think you will live forever. And when day by day you grow older, you feel empty.

So what did you learn? Is emptiness just absence of something or sometimes it comes even just because of presence of something! So never desire for anything just because it will benefit you in future. Do something which removes your habit of desiring. Be happy and peaceful with what you have and don’t take them for granted. Never attach yourself deeply with anything or anyone, do your duty and move. Don’t follow the path others decide for you, choose the path on which you feel you will find your destiny, but remember, your path should not hurt others. Don’t feel happy or sad because of situations and its result. Because happiness don’t come from senses or desires, it comes from spiritual development and self-satisfaction.

To be frank, I was feeling empty from a few days now and it was taking me away from my happiness. There was no real reason to feel empty but still I was feeling so. For just avoiding that emptiness, I filled this blog post. I think I feel better after writing this and I hope the same after you read it.

I don’t know for some reason, the comments which I make on other blogs are not showing up. They are going to the spam folder. Hope it gets resolved soon. Thanks for the support.

Thanks for reading. Stay blessed. Keep Smiling. 🙂

V is for Value: Day-22

“Even though the price is same, the value of that thing is not same for everyone. The value of 1 kg of rice may be 40-50 rupees for many, but the value of rice for farmers is way more than that.”

In this money driven world everyone thinks money is everything. But we should know money doesn’t have value. The hard work done behind the scenes for growing, manufacturing, producing, creating, refining, developing different things is the actual value. Now imagine you want a chocolate, you think you can them just because you have money? If yes then you must be ignorant. There is a lot of process involved behind that, that is the real value for the thing for which we can never pay enough. That’s why price is the compromise. You pay, you get. Value is not price which you pay. The real value is known to the people who do the hard work for making the things.

Value everything which you have in life. And more if it is not related to money, like moments, happiness, peace, time, passion etc. They all make you, you. Money may give you different excuses of happiness, but not the source of happiness. Because the source of happiness is in you. You have to value that. ‘I’m are awesome’, keep saying this every morning standing in front of mirror. You have to value yourself. Because value adds character in our life.

Your value is not decided by the people who measure your worth. It depends on you. The way you value and treat people decides your worth. Because you are worthy for many people in the world. You just have yo value it. Others’ opinions doesn’t matter if you value everything correctly by yourself. Be kind. Value people. Follow values. Be virtuous.

This is my entry for A to Z challenge . It is already day 22 and it is on the letter ‘V’. ‘V’ is for Value. Learn to value people in our life and also the things which we can’t buy with money.

Coming to the challenge, as the name itself says it is very challenging. On every day of month April, except Sundays, which makes it to 26 days, each participant should publish a post relating to the letter corresponding to the number of the day thus completing all the 26 alphabets. For example on day 1, the post should be on something related on letter A, on the second day it should be related to B and this goes on. Exciting? Isn’t it?

And as always, thanks for reading. Have a beautiful week ahead. Follow the values and be virtuous.

D is for Distance: Day-4

“Distance is not necessarily to be measured always in kilometers and miles, sometimes it is to be measured in priorities and waits.”

Distance is a very extensive, complex and cruel being which can separate any good friends if not given attention to. Look, distance even separates two best neighbouring buddies ‘D’ and ‘E’ by 6 letters ( D istanc E). So rude.. Isn’t it?

Okay. Let’s get serious. Distance is never a one-point concept. It is always measured as the gap or separation between two points, where the separation can be in any form, physical, emotional, mental, personal or social. It depends upon the circumstances. It is not necessary that the distance between the two points is same when taken one point as reference. The distance from point A to point B may not be the same as distance from point B to point A. No, I am not trolling maths. Let us explore the concept of Distance by following two fictional examples.

There were two friends, I mean the best buddies who used to share everything, even small of their happenings. They were in the same school and same class. But as the time moved in circles, their lives took different circles. They got separated by time. And no one of them took a step to re-visit the other. Did they forgot each other? I think no. How can we forget the people with whom our moments got intersected! It is just that now they have different priorities.

‘These buddies are separated by ‘n’ priority levels, where n may be 1,2,3 but it doesn’t matter, the final conclusion is they are separated, they are at distance’

Now let us look at another example where again two friends are best buddies. One is good at studies and other is not. They studied in the same college. When they completed their graduation, they took different paths. The paths never met. One got to a good position and other still seeking for a position. One is with ego and other with inferiority. That’s it. They are separated by the distance again. They never contact each other because one waits for other and vice versa.

‘These buddies are separated by ‘n’ days of waiting for the other to initiate the talk, where n can be 1,2,… 100,200,..,life time. But n value doesn’t matter as the conclusion is that they are separated.’

We often find ourselves distanced from the things which we love and people with whom we feel comfortable (Distance here is not about the physical distance, it can be any other distance). Even though we used to think that we will never get apart then, we sometimes fear to meet them now (I am saying this to myself too). Why? Because with time our way of thinking changes and so do our priorities. We get stuck in the hands of time. We think how they may feel again! Or we think will the things be the same again! We are just confused.

Delete all these doubts. Start a talk with the people with whom you are at distance without any reason. Tell them that you care for them. Tell them you don’t want to lose them. Life is small, so it is better to keep the distance small. We will never meet them once we leave this unpredictable and untimely body. Don’t let ego and inferiority come in middle of a beautiful relation. Give it a start, once again. In search of new relations, we often tend to forget older and important relations. Doesn’t matter whether your circle is small, keep it intact. Keep it in shape. Don’t wait. Take that step forward for your happiness. There is no better feeling than to talk with the ones with whom we shared our happy moments once, again.

And there are also some categories from which we have to stay at a distance. They are negative people, greedy people, show off people, money minded people, cheaters etc. Keeping them at a distance, helps us in getting closer to our happiness.

Hope that this long distance (sorry) which you have travelled from word one to here, is helpful in some way by reducing the distance between you and your loved ones.

This post is my entry for A to Z challenge . It is already day 4 and it is on letter ‘D’. D is for Distance. Hope you liked it.
